We grow this variety in our Sonoma County vineyard, just over the western crest of "Spring Mountain." We grow this grape for our Port project, and it is considered the number one variety in Portugal for that style of wine. We have a few more of these grapes than we need for our Port, and by accident we discovered that Touriga Nacional makes a delightful rosé. I think it is just what a great rosé should be, with an attractive color, which is just a bit distinctive, and a fresh and fruity character that is also just a bit more interesting than you might have thought a rosé would be. This wine is ideal with a light meal, and will be at its best outdoors, where the color will sparkle and bring pleasure to a festive lunch with good friends. Enjoy this wine now, it will be delightful for about a year, when the new vintage will be released, (until our Port project grows and we need all the Touriga Nacional grapes!). We bottled 138 cases of 750ml bottles, in clear glass to savor that cheerful color!
