OUR WINES > CABERNET SAUVIGNON ESTATE

This is our "flagship wine" and is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot following the example of the great red wines from Bordeaux. We call it "Estate" because it is blended from many different vineyard blocks with different exposures and elevations ranging from 1500' to 2000'. Rich and fruity and deep, I think it is a wonderful example of what we are trying to achieve in the Spring Mountain District with a Cabernet blend. I would describe it as an elegant, rich, "mountain Cabernet."

2005 CAB. SAUVIGNON ESTATE

Our 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a blend from seven individual vineyard blocks. In 2005, we chose a higher percentage of Cabemet Franc. We also used a slightly higher number of "new French oak" barrels. The final blend is 84% cabernet sauvignon, 9% cabernet franc, 5% merlot, and 2% petit verdot. We are very pleased with the result: a richly flavored and structured wine.
